Carrier Transicold, the Transport Refrigeration division of Carrier
Corporation is currently seeking to fill a Diesel Engine Specialist
position. This position will provide advanced technical support in the
area of truck and trailer diesel engines to Transicold Engineering and
Product Development communities.
Main responsibilities (not limited to):
- Understand root causes and solutions of all reported problems or
weaknesses in diesel engines currently used in global truck and trailer
refrigeration units, working in close coordination with the other
functions and suppliers. Perform tear down analysis
- Continuously interact with the engine suppliers, acting as main
interface in the technical area.
- Develop a strategy to comply with emission requirements at the optimum
cost point, in coordination with the other functions and suppliers.
- Continuously perform "should cost" modelling of our engine range, and
provide support to the purchasing function in cost optimization and
negotiations
- Continuously benchmark competitions, and understand how our engines
and system perform with regards to emission, fuel consumption,
cost...etc.
- Lead the introduction and qualification of alternative engine
suppliers, in coordination with the other functions
- Represent Carrier at compliance groups and in the diesel engine
international technology community
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Master or Phd Degree in mechanical engineering
- At least 5 year experience on diesel engines or similar components
- Analytically minded
- Willing to work hands on (touch and analyze the parts, propose
changes)
- Skilled in advanced engineering methodologies: root cause analysis, DOE, variability analysis etc.
- International working experience preferably in Transport Refrigeration
or Truck / Automotive Industry
- Strong interpersonal skills, communication and leadership
- Willing to travel nationally and internationally
